Two days in Paris

Waking up any other Tuesday morning at 5 am wouldn't be my way to start the morning. But this morning was a little different, I was taking the Eurostar from London to Paris. I arrived at Paris Gare Du Nord and took the metro to my Airbnb, which might I add was 7 flights of stairs high. (Paris doesn't make these things easy for you.) I think all the crepes I ate might have evened it out. Some of my favorites include...

-Champs Elysees: Shopping, shopping, shopping
-Lemarais: More shopping... Supreme
-The Louvre: Louis Vuitton Fashion week show
-Laduree: Macaroons
-Sacre-Coeur Church: The prettiest view in Paris
-Dex Deux Moulins: Yummy food and tasty wine

And although it's been a few weeks, Paris is still on my mind. I'm dreaming of crepes, the Eiffel tower, and croque-monsieur.

Back Abroad.

I think I might have found my passion... traveling. I know, everyone fancies it but it gives me a rush I can not even explaining. Seeing another culture is exhilarating. I like seeing new things, people, food, art, etc.

I feel like I have been trapped in a bubble my entire life. Although I've traveled around the states going to another country doesn't even seem like you're on the same planet. It's like this whole other part of the world existed, and I didn't know about it.

I've seen photos of the Eiffel Tower and the London Eye, but none of it makes sense until you've seen it in person. And luckily I've been able to do that twice.

Returning to Europe for Spring Break was amazing. (Honestly amazing can not even start to describe my trip.) I started out in Toronto, flew to Iceland, then London, then Paris and lastly Copenhagen.

Follow my Instagram, @thatchiclex, to keep up with my travels. I'm going to be posting a full blog post on everywhere I went as well as my recommendations, so stayed tuned for that.

In the meantime check out my recent travel blog posts with CollegeFashionista...

2016.

Looking back is an important part of life. Looking at the mistakes, the memories, the chances you took, etc. They make you who you are. Whether 2016 was your year, there are moments that you can look back on and be thankful for. Those good days where you just smiled because everything was going right (finally); and they may have only lasted for a day, but they happened. Maybe it's because I'm riding one of those life highs right now or maybe I'm just an optimistic person, but I like to reflect. Talking about my firsts and favorite moments make me smile ear to ear. So I made a list. Mostly it's for me, a reflection of my year and proof I didn't spend 2016 just watching Netflix and drinking coffee.

Traveled to Europe

Experienced all different cultures, foods, art all around Europe. This is number one because I believe it had the biggest influence in my life. Traveling gives you a whole new perspective

Studied abroad in London

Need I say more? Studying abroad is not only about what you learn in the classroom.

Was featured in Marie Claire Magazine

Starting the year off right. I was featured in the February issue of Marie Claire. This copy will always have a place on my nightstand.

The Mauve Trend

Loving the mauve trend right now, especially in makeup. Mauve is the perfect color for you green-eyed gals. But honestly, I think any eye color can rock the look. Normally I stray away from color when it comes to my eyeshadows. I like to keep it pretty natural, but now and then I'll try out something new and get hooked. To create this color I blended a burgundy and shimmery tope shadow. I applied it to my upper lid and underneath my eye. Then loaded on black mascara. I paired it with a soft matte lip as well.

What makeup trends do you love for fall?

Meijer Style Recap

Recently, I was invited to a fun-filled weekend of bloggers, fashion, and photos hosted by Meijer Style in Grand Rapids. The event allowed us to network and create content for Meijer Style and our blogs. I've included a sneak peek of my outfits and photos I took throughout the weekend. Meijer provided all of the clothing but allowed us bloggers to style our looks. Some of my favorite pieces included the olive green bomber and flared denim jeans. Also, I loved all the accessories, the chokers and pins helped personalize my looks.

The first location of the shoot was at Robinette's, the cutest apple orchard. We channeled our fall vibes into a picnic themed photoshoot.

Pantene and Covergirl were on set for hair and makeup. I'd like to say I mastered waterfall braids and smokey eyes, but I'll leave that to the professionals.

And lastly, the sneak peeks. I'm doing two posts for Meijer Style on my looks. The outfits I styled will also be featured on my blog, nest week. I'd like to give big thank you again to Meijer for inviting me to the event.
