Footsteps through the city

Footsteps through the city was inspired by my recent trip to Grand Rapids. It's a very polished and chic look. A classic little black dress meets fringe. I wore this look to tour, the one and only, Kendall College of Art and Design. It's a upcoming arts college in the conservative city of Grand Rapids. It recently started a wonderful fashion program.
Anyways, enough about the college, I'm wearing a lace backless dress from Urban Outfitters. (I wish I had pictures of the back to show you all. I highly recommend these dresses, they have them in multiple colors at Urban and they are probably dirt cheep now because I got mine a long time ago.) With my dress I wore a chain and pearl belt which I cinched at my waist. For accessories I paired a similar bracelet, which had the pearl and flower detail. Another accessory I'm wore but isn't visible are a pair of large pearl earrings. To create a modern twist I added a maroon clutch from Target which had gold rings and fringe on the side. For shoes I wore a pair of maroon slipper inspired flats also from Target.
I can't forget about hair ad makeup. For makeup I'm wearing a DIY tinted moisturiser, Concealer from Clinique, Plum Foolery blush by Mac, my gel eyeliner by Maybelline, Lash Blast by Covergirl, and I don't remember what's on my lips! My hair is curled with a curling wand like usually.

I hope you enjoyed today's outfit of the day! What do you think of 2012's summer trends, lace, backless, fringe, etc? What's your favorite?

Tribal nails

I recently got my nails done! Since white nail polish is in for the summer, I got that on all my fingers. On both my pointers I got a tribal design, in orange, green, blue, teal, brown, and black. It is super fun for summer and goes with practically anything!

What's your favorite nail polish trend!?
Oh and has anybody tried that new
Ciatè (I think it's called) caviar nail polish!? Im thinking of purchasing it soon!

Life's a beach

This look contains all the elements of a cute, easy, comfy, summer look. On top I'm wearing a flowy button down in coral from the brand Mine. This top is sheer so I put a lacy bandeau in the same color underneath. My shorts are Volcom and from a surf shop, Nomads, in Florida. For accessories I'm wearing my DKNY watch in gold. On the opposite arm, wearing a chunky brown/gold bracelet and a simple coral one. As usually I'm wearing my heart shaped sunglasses from Urban. Last is my shoes which are strappy sandals by Steve Madden.

What is your favorite summer clothing piece?

I' have to say mine is the bright colored collared button downs. They are extremely comfy and light! Love them!

Little black dress.

This look is pretty self explanatory. Dressing up a little black dress for a girls night out. Using studs, sparkles, and chains to add edge to the flirty dress. I brought a black leather jacket from Express along in case I got chilly because I knew it would be a long night. My hair is in a top knot, looking polished and simple, while my makeup is more dramatic, I wore red lips to add a pop of color to this all-black look.

How do you change up a little black dress!?

Bright Blue

Bright Blue

Shocking Blue Romper paired with natural looking accessories make up this look. The one-piece is from Urban Outfitters, under it I'm wearing a bandeau from Aerie in a very similar blue color. The romper is extremely unique, it is open in the back and shows skin through holes cut in the fabric. For accessories I'm wearing a studded brown/gold belt to accentuate my waist. My bag is a crossover from American Eagle. On my wrist I have a chunky brown and gold bracelet. My shoes are strappy sandals by Steve Madden. (Which I love but are incredibly uncomfortable for sandals.) The last thing I did to pull this look together is the heart shaped sunglasses from Urban!

How are you guys wearing rompers this season?

Jumpsuit

JUMPSUIT. Black, gold, and red. The perfect combination to create a polished and put together look, Especially for summer. This jumpsuit is incredibly light, it keeps you semi-cool on hot summer days. I added firey red lips to brighten up the look. The gold heart sunglasses make the outfit young and fun.

Do you like jumpsuits for summer!?

Barefoot Adventures

Barefoot Adventures is a very easy look. It looks as if you just returned from the beach. Hair is messy and wavy, Makeup very minimal. The dress I'm wearing is from Billabong, it is light and simple but makes for a good look.

Jean Baby

Jean baby, simple yet elegant look. Combines two opposites, casual with dressy.

The Oasis

The Oasis is a comfortable light look. You can wear it to multiple occasions, ex. the beach, outdoor concert, festivals, etc. However, I wore this look in the meadow/forest near my house. Each piece is extremely lightweight and keeps you cool even on hot summer days.

National Anthem, a patriotic look for the fourth! I'm keeping cool by wearing a bright blue bandeau with a pair of high waisted flag DIY shorts I made for the occasion. To finish the look I wore jean gladiators and cute heart shaped sunglasses on my head.

Cotton Candy Ombré

Cotton Candy Ombré, a DIY inspired look. I turned this outfit from casual to dressy by adding some studded flats, layers of necklaces, and a sleek leather vest. Following the neon trend, I added a neon yellow studded belt, completing the look. I wore my hair in top knot and applied hot pink lip gloss to give the complete look some fun.

Lost At Sea

Lost at Sea. In this look I paired a lot of vintage accessories with new trends. I'm wearing a lace blouse paired with some high-waisted lace shorts. For jewelry, I'm wearing an old crystallized necklace and a bunch of bangles. These bangles intermix both gold and sliver into the outfit. Another vintage piece is the sailor hat. Which I found looking through my grandmas storage. This piece ultimately pulls the whole look together. For shoes I'm wearing my studded combat boots. The sailor hat inspired the look and made me decide to mix old and new.

Modern Day Ballerina

Modern Day Ballerina is feminine yet punk. This look contains a lot of darker jewelry which shakes up the outfit. I think the maiden braids pull the outfit together even more.
