I'm set on Paradise

Hey everyone! :) Today's look is "I'm set on Paradise". On top I'm wearing a denim shirt from Aerie which I tied up. Along with a gorgeous circle scarf from Target. I LOVE this scarf. I seem to wear it at least once a week, it is really cozy and super warm. The color is also a beautiful rust red. On bottom I'm wearing a black maxi from... I have no idea! I Just kinda found it in my closet. My shoes are also from target and in a similar color to the scarf.

My hair is just kinda messy and pulled into a bun while I pushed my bangs to the side. They are finally long enough to wear them on the side. Yay!

If you have any questions or feedback about my outfit, I would love to hear your opinions:)

The Wait is On.

Hey everyone:) I miss posting so much! I'm so much happier when I'm posting on my blog or Lookbook, I feel much more accomplished. Anyways my look I'm featuring is, The Wait is On. I wore this when I went out with a few of my friends. My top is a t-shirt I found at Forever 21 which is tucked into my pleated oxblood skirt also from Forever 21. Recently I've been obsessed with that place, I've found myself buying a lot of on trend things for real cheap. Oh by the way, oxblood and maroon are wonderful as well. I know oxblood is constantly a trend for fall and winter but I've really gotten into it this year... you should see my closet its filled with the color. You'll understand once you see my next few looks. Anyways back to my outfit, my leather jacket is from Express and so is my hat. I'm also wearing sheer tights with my studded combat boots.

If you didn't notice, yes I got bangs! And I love them! They are a pain most of the time but I think they really fit me. Right now they are really grown out so I've been wearing them as a side bang... which I also really like. I feel like I also constantly want my hair to be different, so having bangs lets me style it differently each day. Another thing is I'm really looking into ombre hair. I've seen a few beauty gurus with it and it looks really awesome on them. Comment your thoughts on ombre, I'd love to hear what you guys think:)

Adventure Is Out There!

Adventure Is Out There!

This is a cute yet causal look that you can wear where-ever whenever. I had a really busy day today and was going to need an outfit that was comfortable yet presentable. Something that I could wear the whole day, from early morning to night! On top I'm wearing a striped mustard sweater from Gliks. This sweater is super cool because in the back it is cropped, it shows just enough skin. My shorts are plain white with a few holes, these are from American Eagle. Now on to accessories, I'm wearing a brown leather belt from American Eagle. I'm also wearing my DKNY gold watch on one of my hands, perfect for a busy girl on the go! My purse is Frankie and Johnson, which has the same brown color as my belt and boots. My ridding boots are Steve Madden. I absolutely love these! They are too cute and so comfy.

My makeup is what I normally wear. Excepted I focused more on bronzer and blush to make my face look more warm. I also wore a BB creme I bought from Target a few days ago. Would anyone enjoy s product review on that? I could always do a before and after! Anyways my hair is pulled back into a low bun. Nothing special just got it out of my face yet still looked cute!

Do you like ridding boots for fall? Do any of you have an opinion about cropped articles of clothing? for summer and for fall?

Thanks for reading!

Lacey Ballerina

 Lacey Ballerina!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while! I've been so busy! But I'm back to posting regularly and I'm determined to stay this way. Anyways on my short break I got a hair cut! If you haven't already noticed I got bangs! I took a risk and went for it and now I love them, they are work tho.

Moving on to the outfit, Lacey Ballerina is a really feminine look with a few edgy details. I love mixing edgy and feminine, it always creates the perfect medium! My top is from Aerie, it is a black vintage lace crop top. My favorite part of this piece is the back. I love how low-cut it is, classy yet sexy. My bottoms is a long royal blue skirt from Forever 21. It is pleated and high-waisted! My accessories are a chain headband I won from BeFreaksApparel contest! You should check her out on instagram! My other accessories are rings from Forever 21 and an adorable skull bracelet from Gliks! Gliks is a store in my hometown, I think they have them everywhere but I'm not positive. They sell name brand stuff like Free People, Billabong, Glamour Kills. Last is my shoes which you probably have seen before in other looks. They are my gladiator sandals from the brand Volcom.

My makeup is natural, I'm wearing a little bit of bronzer and blush but nothing too over the top. On my lips I'm wearing my new BabyLips (I'm unaware of the name at the moment). My hair is pulled up into a messy topknot. I have a few pieces in the front pulled out to make it look even messier. I also have the head band I talked about earlier in my hair.

Do you like my bangs? Do you like bangs in general? haha I'd love to hear what you guys think about my new look!

Thanks for reading

Change of Seasons

Hello everyone! (: So yesterday it got down to 60 degrees, it was rainy and cold and yucky. However I was thrilled with the weather. I got to wear this beautiful mint green sweater. This sweater is from Urban Outfitters and I've been wanting this for a while now. It was a little expensive but I finally caved in and bought it. It was worth the money because I've already had a ton of outfit ideas for it. I hope you guys don't get sick of seeing it. :p Under the sweater I'm wearing a bandeau in a similar color. For bottoms I'm wearing my lace shorts I bought at TJ Maxxs. They were such a steal and so so cute. I was inspired by the gorgeous Chanel purses, to buy the one I'm wearing here. Chanel purses are so adorable yet extremely out of a normal girls price range. So I bought this quilted one from Aldo. I love that there is a bow on the front and the crossover chain is detachable. The funny thing is when I bought it I didn't realize it was made specifically for ipads. However I'm just gonna use it as a purse! My accessories aren't visible and I didn't get a picture of them. I was wearing a bunch of gold rings on my right hand from Forever 21. Lastly my shoes which you guys have seen before are Volcom gladiators. This outfit has accents of gold which I think went well with the black and mint green.

My makeup is on the natural side today. I'd go through it but it is basically what I wear everyday day. My hair is natural as well. I woke up and showered and that's what happened.

What do you think of sweaters, all year round? and What is your take on the lace short trend? I'd love to hear what you guys think! If you guys have any questions, be sure to ask! Thanks (:

High-Bun Time

Hey everyone! :) I kinda wish blogs were as popular as Youtube!

Anyways today's outfit is called "High-Bun Time", referencing to how my hair is styled for the day! I wore this outfit when to went down to Troy for back to school shopping. (Which I can't wait make a haul for you guys!) On top I'm wearing a, ballerina inspired, fitted lace top with ruffle sleeves from The Buckle. For bottoms, I'm wearing a black high-low skirt from Forever 21. This skirt was an amazing deal, so I bought another one in a pale pink color. My shoes are studded gladiators by Volcom, from Pac Sun. I got these shoes a few years ago, and lucky enough the stud trend is back. For accessories I have on my gold DKNY watch. (I want a rose gold Michael Kors one so bad!!!) On the other hand I have on a random gold bangle bracelet. My sunglasses are from Ralph Lauren. And yes my nail polish is still on. I still have white polish with one tribal nail!

My hair is pretty self explanatory, a high-bun or other-wise known as a top-knot. If you would like to see how I do my messy bun, leave a comment below and I'd love to make a picture or video tutorial!

My makeup... which isn't really visible. I was trying to go for a bronze goddess look. Unfortunately I'm pale so that didn't work. On eyes I'm wearing a different array of colors from the Naked 2 Palette. I'm also wearing eyeliner and mascara which is not visible. What you can see is my Pinch Me blush by Mac and My Makeup Forever foundation.

What do you think of high-low skirts? Would you wear them?

-Thanks <33 Lex

Crusier

Cruiser... this look gets its name after the beautiful bike I just bought! I wanted a vintage looking cruiser that had racks on the front and back for a basket! (Which I still need to find.)

Anyways the outfit I put together is great for a more formal summer setting or just everyday. I personally dress up a lot more than the average person so I wore this just as an everyday outfit. My tube top is from Aerie which is a darker blue color and kinda gathers throughout. My skirt is from Urban Outfitters! (I highly suggest looking there for back to school shopping because they are having a huge sale on summer stuff. Which is easily transformable into the fall season.) My necklace is from Aerie, the necklace is pretty much all fringe, awesome for summer and fall! Then last my shoes are from Steve Madden. I've been obsessed with these shoes this season. Even though they aren't the most comfortable. I love the brown leather looking sandal for pretty much every summer outfit.

My makeup is very natural. I just bought a new foundation from Makeup Forever and it makes my face look EVEN all day! I'm wearing a coral blush from Mac... I think pinch me? (I don't remember.) My eyes I wearing a little eye shadow from the Naked 2 palette. I finally caved in and bought it! I'm not wearing any eyeliner just a little dark brown from the palette around my eyes. Mascara is from Clinique, a very natural looking one. My lips I have a bright coral lipstick from Target, pretty sure Loreal.

My hair is natural, it's basically straight with a little wave. It is parted a little off center which I think is gorgeous this summer and for going into fall!

Check out my lookbook and hype my look please! :) It should be located on the side on my blog!

What do you guys think of middle parts? What is your favorite summer hairstyle? :)

Footsteps through the city

Footsteps through the city was inspired by my recent trip to Grand Rapids. It's a very polished and chic look. A classic little black dress meets fringe. I wore this look to tour, the one and only, Kendall College of Art and Design. It's a upcoming arts college in the conservative city of Grand Rapids. It recently started a wonderful fashion program.
Anyways, enough about the college, I'm wearing a lace backless dress from Urban Outfitters. (I wish I had pictures of the back to show you all. I highly recommend these dresses, they have them in multiple colors at Urban and they are probably dirt cheep now because I got mine a long time ago.) With my dress I wore a chain and pearl belt which I cinched at my waist. For accessories I paired a similar bracelet, which had the pearl and flower detail. Another accessory I'm wore but isn't visible are a pair of large pearl earrings. To create a modern twist I added a maroon clutch from Target which had gold rings and fringe on the side. For shoes I wore a pair of maroon slipper inspired flats also from Target.
I can't forget about hair ad makeup. For makeup I'm wearing a DIY tinted moisturiser, Concealer from Clinique, Plum Foolery blush by Mac, my gel eyeliner by Maybelline, Lash Blast by Covergirl, and I don't remember what's on my lips! My hair is curled with a curling wand like usually.

I hope you enjoyed today's outfit of the day! What do you think of 2012's summer trends, lace, backless, fringe, etc? What's your favorite?

Tribal nails

I recently got my nails done! Since white nail polish is in for the summer, I got that on all my fingers. On both my pointers I got a tribal design, in orange, green, blue, teal, brown, and black. It is super fun for summer and goes with practically anything!

What's your favorite nail polish trend!?
Oh and has anybody tried that new
Ciatè (I think it's called) caviar nail polish!? Im thinking of purchasing it soon!

Life's a beach

This look contains all the elements of a cute, easy, comfy, summer look. On top I'm wearing a flowy button down in coral from the brand Mine. This top is sheer so I put a lacy bandeau in the same color underneath. My shorts are Volcom and from a surf shop, Nomads, in Florida. For accessories I'm wearing my DKNY watch in gold. On the opposite arm, wearing a chunky brown/gold bracelet and a simple coral one. As usually I'm wearing my heart shaped sunglasses from Urban. Last is my shoes which are strappy sandals by Steve Madden.

What is your favorite summer clothing piece?

I' have to say mine is the bright colored collared button downs. They are extremely comfy and light! Love them!

Little black dress.

This look is pretty self explanatory. Dressing up a little black dress for a girls night out. Using studs, sparkles, and chains to add edge to the flirty dress. I brought a black leather jacket from Express along in case I got chilly because I knew it would be a long night. My hair is in a top knot, looking polished and simple, while my makeup is more dramatic, I wore red lips to add a pop of color to this all-black look.

How do you change up a little black dress!?

Bright Blue

Bright Blue

Shocking Blue Romper paired with natural looking accessories make up this look. The one-piece is from Urban Outfitters, under it I'm wearing a bandeau from Aerie in a very similar blue color. The romper is extremely unique, it is open in the back and shows skin through holes cut in the fabric. For accessories I'm wearing a studded brown/gold belt to accentuate my waist. My bag is a crossover from American Eagle. On my wrist I have a chunky brown and gold bracelet. My shoes are strappy sandals by Steve Madden. (Which I love but are incredibly uncomfortable for sandals.) The last thing I did to pull this look together is the heart shaped sunglasses from Urban!

How are you guys wearing rompers this season?

Jumpsuit

JUMPSUIT. Black, gold, and red. The perfect combination to create a polished and put together look, Especially for summer. This jumpsuit is incredibly light, it keeps you semi-cool on hot summer days. I added firey red lips to brighten up the look. The gold heart sunglasses make the outfit young and fun.

Do you like jumpsuits for summer!?

Barefoot Adventures

Barefoot Adventures is a very easy look. It looks as if you just returned from the beach. Hair is messy and wavy, Makeup very minimal. The dress I'm wearing is from Billabong, it is light and simple but makes for a good look.

Jean Baby

Jean baby, simple yet elegant look. Combines two opposites, casual with dressy.

Jul 13, 2012

The Oasis

The Oasis is a comfortable light look. You can wear it to multiple occasions, ex. the beach, outdoor concert, festivals, etc. However, I wore this look in the meadow/forest near my house. Each piece is extremely lightweight and keeps you cool even on hot summer days.

Jul 12, 2012

National Anthem

National Anthem, a patriotic look for the fourth! I'm keeping cool by wearing a bright blue bandeau with a pair of high waisted flag DIY shorts I made for the occasion. To finish the look I wore jean gladiators and cute heart shaped sunglasses on my head.

Cotton Candy Ombré

Cotton Candy Ombré, a DIY inspired look. I turned this outfit from casual to dressy by adding some studded flats, layers of necklaces, and a sleek leather vest. Following the neon trend, I added a neon yellow studded belt, completing the look. I wore my hair in top knot and applied hot pink lip gloss to give the complete look some fun.

Lost At Sea

Lost at Sea. In this look I paired a lot of vintage accessories with new trends. I'm wearing a lace blouse paired with some high-waisted lace shorts. For jewelry, I'm wearing an old crystallized necklace and a bunch of bangles. These bangles intermix both gold and sliver into the outfit. Another vintage piece is the sailor hat. Which I found looking through my grandmas storage. This piece ultimately pulls the whole look together. For shoes I'm wearing my studded combat boots. The sailor hat inspired the look and made me decide to mix old and new.

Modern Day Ballerina

Modern Day Ballerina is feminine yet punk. This look contains a lot of darker jewelry which shakes up the outfit. I think the maiden braids pull the outfit together even more.
