Last weekend I traveled to New York City, for Teen Vogue's Fashion University. I can honestly say it was a weekend to remember. I met a lot of new friends and gained critical advice from the fashion it crowd. This included...

I thoroughly enjoyed all of the presentations, especially Jason Wagenheim. His panel was realistic, informative, and inspiring. I know I will be putting his tips to use very soon.

Day 1
I started off my trip, Friday evening at the Express Kickoff Party. This party was held in times square in the Express store. Inside was Flash Tattoos, a lash bar, DJ Chelsea Leyland, bloggers such as Lua P from http://www.le-happy.com, and editors from Teen Vogue greeting all the students. One of my favorite parts of the night was meeting Andrew Bevan, style features director.

Day 2
6:30 AM my alarm goes off and for the first I'm actually excited to wake up early. Check in began at 7:30 AM in the lobby of the World Trade Center (Condé Nast new home). After going through security, we went up 63 floors to get to our first panel, Katherine Power and Hilary Kerr. I'm not going to explain each presentation in great detail, but I will mention my favorite events from the day. When entering the first panel, there was metallic rose-gold and silver bags from Express sitting on our chairs. My love for gold brought me to chose the rose-gold toned bag and let me tell you, I'm currently obsessed with it. After two enlightening panels, lunch was served. As a business major at Fashion U, I was sectioned off with other girls who had the same interest. It was interesting getting their perspective on the fashion industry. My favorite speaker was right after lunch, Jason Wagenheim. Jason was extremely personable and made the whole room feel comfortable. He spoke about desiring to work in "this" business and how you have to get involved. "Teen Vogue, doesn't care if you have a 4.0 from Harvard, they want someone who is dedicated to the industry." His presentation  hit home, since I'm currently not at a fashion school. After the panels had been finished, the editors hosted a mix and mingle. This gave the students the opportunity to ask questions and network with others in the same business.

Day 3

The weekend went by so fast. However, the last day  did not disappoint. Cool girl Leandra Medine, of Man Repeller, was fabulous. This panel was informative and just down right fun. Leandra has a personality that makes the whole room feel like her friend. I'm currently purchasing her book, Seeking Love Finding Overalls, as we speak. I also recommend checking out http://www.manrepeller.com, if you haven't already. It's filled with witty fashion tips that become quite addicting. After the presentation, we had officially graduated. However, I had a few things I wanted to do before I left Teen Vogue for good. I made sure I got connected with all the girls I had met over the weekend as well as asking my favorite presenter for a picture. Overall this weekend was such a success. I highly recommend attending if you have the opportunity.

Last weekend, I had an amazing opportunity to visit New York City. Over the summer, I applied for Teen Vogue University and was notified that I was accepted. Teen Vogue University gives you the opportunity to meet with designers, stylists, and others who are involved in the fashion industry. This year they had a huge variety of speakers. Ranging from famous designers like Joseph Altuzarra to top model Coco Rocha. The classes were held all day Saturday and then continued Sunday morning at the Hudson Theater and Conde Nast building. Along with these wonderful classes, the students also got the opportunity to attend to shopping events, held at Express and Topshop. At these events, all the students were catered to and also received 20% off everything. This was definitely a highlight for me, since Topshop is incredible and is impossible to find in Michigan. I spent way too much money there and plan to do a haul showing what I purchased. Anyways, this trip was a fabulous experience. I thank everyone at Teen Vogue for giving people like me this awesome opportunity. These are a few photos from my trip. I don't have that many of Fashion U because I was just too excited.

Teen Vogue It Girls Night in

Recently, I got this awesome opportunity with around 100 different girls to host an It Girls Night in for Teen Vogue. They had a bunch of girls celebrating there 10th year of Teen Vogue. Firstly, I had to answer a few questions about what my friends and I enjoyed. We ended up getting a DIY themed party. Teen Vogue sent me a huge box full of everything I would need to host this party...

• Décor: Table decorations, issues of teen vogue magazine, Hard copy of our March cover.
• Items for the table, decorations for the table, table cloths, plates, napkins, cups, cutlery
• Popcorn & DVD (New Years)
• DIY materials including paint, safety pins, studs, iron-on ribbon and scissors 
• Teen Vogue tote bag
• Paul Frank t-shirts 
• Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara
• Asos coupon 

They sent me so much stuff, It was unbelievable, it really kept the party going. I however, had to purchase a few things on my own, aka pizza, cupcakes, etc. Which I was totally fine with because they took care of everything else. I had around 8 girls able to show up and they really enjoyed themselves. A lot of the bags turned out super cute. 

Thanks to Teen Vogue, Paul Frank, and other companies who were apart of this opportunity. I sure had a lot of fun and I know my friends did as well :)

Concert Attire

 Concert Attire. This is what I wore to the All Time Low concert a few nights ago. I wanted something pretty light because concerts can get hot, really fast. I wore my Ramones tank from Forever 21, I love how it has the accent of cheetah print with the black and white. I paired this top with high-waisted shorts from Topshop. The cool thing about these shorts are they aren't too high, they fit my waisted perfectly. Underneath, I wore sheer black tights, I thought that was sorta necessary since it is winter. It's kinda hard too see but I'm wearing my black studded combat boots, these are definitely one of my stable pieces, I have wore them to death. For accessories I'm wearing a few different pieces. I'm going to post a blog post soon about accessories I have been loving, which includes a lot of skulls, no surprise. :p Anyways my bracelets are form an assortment of places, Gliks, Windsor, and Claires. I'm also wearing a cross necklace which isn't very visible in the picture, that is from Gliks as well. I wore my leather jacket from Express to the concert, but had to take it off because it got so warm. I felt this outfit was perfect for the All Time Low concert, however I advise you to wear a little more clothes if you know you will be waiting in a line outside, that was my mistake. Layers are always the best choice. :)

Bleeding Love

 Today's look is Bleeding Love, I wore this Christmas day when I went to the movies with my whole family. We have a tradition that ever year on Christmas day, my parents, brother, and grandparents go to the theater and see whatever is coming out that day. We chose Les Misérables, I personally loved this movie however it was kinda long and there was ALOT of singing. Anyways, I was looking for something comfy yet cute to wear and decided on... what I'm wearing. My top I actually got from my mom for Christmas, I'm pretty positive it's from Gliks. I love the Chanel logo on the front but the back is probably my favorite part. I kinda have an obsession with backless things, however that doesn't work out well because Michigan is always freezing! My leggings are super comfy and from Express along with my fur vest. The funny thing about the vest is when I was in Express one day, I found this olive green jacket that I fell in love with, the vest was attached inside. I didn't realize until recently that you can actually remove the vest from the coat to wear individually... silly me. My favorite part of this outfit is definitely the purple hat. Mine is from Forever 21 and kinda reminds me of the one sold at Topshop, which is the one I originally wanted. Lastly my shoes are lace-up Sperrys, and my spiky ring is from Gliks.
