Music Festival Season

With weekend 1 of Coachella coming to a close, I thought it would be the perfect time to relive my own music festival experience at Lollapalooza. Since I never blogged about "the best day of my life" I figured nows the time. 

Although we only experienced one day of Lolla, I think even that gave me a new perspective on music festivals. It's no longer just about the music. These big festivals create an entire experience based on food, style, music, atmosphere and the people. 

This year I have a new festival in mind, Govenor's Ball. Since I'm spending my summer in New York, I thought this would be the perfect fit. I'll be seeing artists such as Lorde, Beach House, Flume, Local Natives, Saint Motel, the list goes on. 

The real question is.... what will I wear? Vintage high-waisted shorts, fishnets, crop tops, the options are endless. Check out this video for a little music festival fashion inspiration.

You'll be rocking your outfit all day and night so having an wardrobe malfunction is not an option.

Currently wishing YouTube would allow me to change my thumbnail. Instead I'm suck with this incredibly awkward face, however that aside I have some great news. I have decided to make a collection of YouTube videos focused on festivals. I have some great videos in the works and can not wait to share them. The first video of the collection is a simple festival makeup look. Keep it minimal with a BB Cream and bronzer. No need for eyeliner, it will only smug. Don't forgot waterproof mascara and a bright coral lip. Have fun!

Festival season is coming up and for all you concert goers that means festival fashion. Wearing high waisted shorts and crop tops never seems to get old in the summer. I will be putting together a lookbook featuring my favorite bohemian wear that will be coming out next month. However, here is a sneak peak.

Since Michigan's temps are ranging from 60s to 70s, pants are still acceptable. Plus these are from Aerie are extra cozy. I paired mine with this cute knit crop top from American Eagle. If you haven't noticed yet, crop tops are a festival favorite. You can see anyone from Kendall Jenner to Bella Thorne sporting one at Coachella. With my top, I wore a three-tiered necklace from Lucky Brand. This necklace has both gold and silver giving you endless options for your other details. I usually like to match all my metals, so this necklace gives me the option to mix and match without clashing. Adding more jewelry, I wore my gold Alex and Ani bracelets. I love how effortless these bracelets look. To top off my outfit, I wore a black floppy hat, aka another festival necessity, and chestnut sandals that resemble Birkenstocks. It's important to wear comfy shoes; after a long day your feet will be killing you if you aren't sensible. Although, it's not pictured in this ootd I recommend bringing a small backpack. You are going to want something to carry all your necessities, and this will do just that, plus your phone will be safe and sound.
