25 Facts about Me!

Recently I've been really into this blog... http://www.zoella.co.uk :) It has a lot of cute and informative posts on some of my favorite things, fashion, beauty, etc. A few days ago Zoe posted a blogpost on "25 Facts about Me". I thought it would be a cute and quirky blog post so I decided to do the same. Everyone should definitely go check out her blog and Youtube channel, it's addicting :)

25 Facts about Me

 1. I wanna make a difference in the world. I don't know how I plan to do that but I hope I can. I always wanted to be on the TV show Extreme Home Makeover and help build a house for the families in need.

 2. I'm a tab bit obsessed with Two Door Cinema Club. Their music is fabulous.

 3. I can not save money. I always seem to be spending it on food.

 4. In the winter time I spend most of my time curled up next to the heater because I can't handle the cold. It is my worst enemy.

 5. I'm a theater kid, I love the feeling of being on stage. Preforming is always a joy.

 6. I have colored contacts that enhance my eyeballs! Yes, my eyes are naturally green.

 7. Summer is definitely my favorite season.

 8. I used to love the show Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I was always Donatello, aka the purple mask turtle.

 9. Longboards are super cool and I wish I could ride one but I'm not exactly the most balanced person.

10. I would LOVE to work at Teen Vogue, one day.

11.  I have a love for sea animals and for about half my life I considered becoming a marine biologist. That was until I learned I suck at Science.

12. Children are so darling. I can not wait till I have one or two of my own. (When I'm like 30.)

13. I have always had the urge to learn to surf. One year when I went to Florida, I actually took surfing lessons. Let's just say I wasn't the best... I hope one day I'll be able to go surfing no problem.

14. Dolphins and penguins are probably the best animals known to man-kind. I rode a dolphin once.

15. When I don't know song lyrics, I make up my own... It gets pretty rough.

16. One of my all time favorite movies is Spirited Away... Yes it is amine. Yes it is a kid's movie. It is still wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.

17. I hate gum. It is chewy, sticky, and really digests me.

18. My friends and I are addicted to concerts, there was a year when I went to at least 10. Most of them however were the same bands. The Downtown Fiction, The Summer Set, etc.

19. I'm kinda shy if I really don't know someone, especially if I'm with a group of people.

20. I have senioritis and I'm only a junior. Going to school is seriously a pain to me.

21. I have some of the most vivid dreams, I can still remember one in full detail from when I was 7.

22. I have an old man crush on Robert Downey Jr. Not only his good looks, but his intelligence is extremely attractive.

23. Photography is amazing. I love my camera and enjoy taking photos and videos. Even though most people hate it, I find editing rather fun and get really excited when I learn new tips and tricks.

24. I have always been horrible at spelling... I rely heavily on autocorrect.

25. When I was younger I played every sport possible. (Not all at the same time, lol) Now I don't play a single sport. I was never aggressive enough. I do, do yoga, however, I don't think that counts.

Things I've been loving... My January Favorites

Red lipstick... well sorta. I've been obsessed with my Revlon lip butter in Red Velvet. It is more of an oxblood color than a full on red. I find it perfect for the winter time and it doesn't make me look extremely pale, which is a plus. Another red I have fell in LOVE with recently, is Satin by Mac. I've found that Mac lipsticks are my personal favorites. They have a variety of red colors, Satin, however,  compliments my skin tone the best.

High-waisted shorts with tights... Sounds a little crazy for winter time, but recently I was in Forever 21 and I bought two pairs of the cutest high-waisted shorts. They are on the fancier side but look really nice with a pair of sheer black tights and lace up wedges. I think this trend can be casually as well, wearing a sweater with high-waisted denim shorts and combat boots. I think shorts can give an outfit a chic and trendy look.

Ombre hair... As you all know, well I think from my photos you can tell, I ombred my hair! The first time I got it done it was a little too much blonde for me, so I got it a bit darker and made the blonde a little subtler. (is subtler even a word? It looks rather funny.) Anyways I'm really enjoying my new locks and I think they will be perfect for the spring and summer. I feel like it makes my hair have more texture and a boho vibe.

Skulls... This is surprising, NOT! I feel like anything with skulls is my new love. Recently I just bought a few skull items, a circle scarf off Etsy. It kind of reminds me of the Alexander McQueen skull scarf, but it didn't cost nearly that much. Another purchase is this adorable blue skull bracelet from Claires. Normally, I rarely shop at Claires, I find most of their items are cheap or childish, but I was pleasantly surprised when I went in the store the other day and found this lovely bracelet for only 6$. I was also rather heavy and seemed like an expensive material. Something I've had my eyes on for a while are these gorgeous black leggings with skulls on the knees, I think they are effortfully adorable and would spice up an outfit. Unfortunately I'm low on funds at the moment, so I'm going to have to save up for those.

These 4 things, I found myself loving for all of January. I have a feeling that love will continue throughout the next few months. I'd love to hear what your January favorites were, be sure to comment below!

New Year. New Resolutions. 2013.

 New year resolutions 2013

This year will be different than most, I'm going to put more effort into the things I love and waste less time dwelling on the little things. And by little things I mean the stuff that I waste time with, that stress me out to the full extreme. I just want to be focused on things I really do enjoy. That's why this year making resolutions seemed so important to me... hopefully I can keep them. I realize one of the last resolutions is more like a goal, but I figured if I wrote it down I'd be one step closer to it. :) By the way this picture above is my journal, it's where I wrote down my thoughts and ideas and just random things I feel I should remember.

1. Live a healthier lifestyle.
-Eat better. (Less sweets and more veggies)
-Exercise a few days a week (Preferably running/walking)
-Stop being lazy (Wasting hours on end on twitter... NO MORE)
-Do yoga every Sunday morning. If possible a few times a week.

I actually proud of myself, today, (which is Sunday) I went to this little yoga place in my town, I signed up and took a class. The class was called Slow Flow and was supposedly for beginners, I however thought differently. Yoga is a lot harder than it looks, I did enjoy it though.

2. Pursue what I want to do. Don't let the fear of others interfere.

In the past, I let others opinions shape what I did and didn't do. This year I will be doing more for myself. I don't mean that in a selfish way, but you can't live off of someone else's happiness. Sometimes you have to do what you want. For instance, I was always afraid to make a blog or a Youtube channel  because I worried if people at my school saw. What would they think? This past year 2012 I grew and let opinions not effect me too much. This year they won't effect me at all.

3. Further educate myself on things I want to continue; like blogging, design, photography, Youtube, etc. Take a class on things I'd love to learn about, cooking, cake decorating, DIY, etc.

I think education is extremely important. When I say that I don't mean pre-calc or chemistry. Personally I'd be happier without having to take those two classes. I think everyone should be educated on things they love to do, it only makes them better.

4. Attend Teen Vogue Fashion University

Like I said before this resolution is more of a goal. Last year I was accepted into Teen Vogue Fashion U, it's basically a big conference that's held for a few days in New Year City. They accept students, 16-20 (something) who are interested in the Fashion world. When you arrive you take a few classes with speakers like Michael Kors, Amy Astley, etc. who teach you about fashion and it's different aspects. Anyways when I recieved my acceptance letter last fall, it got mixed in with my spam mall and I didn't see it until a little bit later. When I tried to register for classes it said that they were all full. :( I was pretty upset but I plan on applying this year and making sure I check my email and spam EVERYDAY! Hopefully I get accepted!

These are my 2013 resolutions, what are yours? I'd love to hear what you chose! :)

-xoxo Lex
